Tornado Warning - east of Oshkosh
Just issued a few minutes ago. No funnel cloud, but doppler image indicates severe thunderstorm, with rotation. Take cover, Fox Valley DUers.

7. I wish our Oshkosh area DUers well
I had no idea this was coming. I'm about 100 miles away and I'm surround by clear blue sky. Thank goddess my parents are working today or they'd be on Lake Winnebago and the Wolf River fishing at this moment.

11. Being right in the middle of the storm...
It was nasty. First we had heavy lightning strikes then some hard rain and it got calm all of a sudden. Then we got plastered with an onslaught of 1 inch hail which was followed with some of the hardest wind gusts I've seen since that 2001 wind storm that came through and trashed the town. We had the tornado sirens go off but by that time the rotation that was to create a tornado was edging off into Lake Winnebago. My whole block is white from hail cover but it was slightly scary since there's not a legitimate basement in the apartment I live in (although a lower level laundry room seemed to work okay). Rp

12. the reports on the news sounded awful
1-inch hail can do a lot of damage. Glad you're safe, MRp!

The kids are throwing hailballs at each other. It looks like the cars survived, though.
