Ugh. I met Sensenbrenner at Fiesta Waukesha!
Well, it had to happen sometime -- I finally shook the hand of good old F. Jim. (And, yes, I washed well later.)

I even introduced myself, full name and everything, and there was zero recognition (my husband was one of the ones running against him, so there theoretically should have been something if he paid a modicum of attention). He took off before I could ask him anything.

Of course, I was wearing a Feingold shirt and working at the Democratic Party booth, so maybe that had something to do with it.

But still -- shouldn't a good representative be willing to listen to the people who aren't going to be voting for him? (Gary Kohlenberg earned a bit of my respect after he reasonably answered some admittedly antagonistic questions at a local meeting, by someone wearing a Kennedy sticker, no not me.) He's still my Congressman.

1. Was Sensenbrenner running for dogcatcher of Waukesha?
He is intellectually well qualified for that job.

2. Eeeeeewwwwwww
What does Sensenbrenner look like in person? Have only seen him on the teevee and he has that jiggly baby-fat quality that he struts around with an air of superiority. Maybe it's all that cheese?

5. Oh, I know...
We've written him a few times and have received variations of "you're stupid" (more nicely phrased) in return.

4. He actually has quite a bit of that jiggly baby-fat quality
I must admit I didn't recognize him until he said who he was. He seems taller in real life.

6. Sheesh
he visited my High School back in 1978. What is he a million years old? My only memory of it was that during his talk he got hit in the head with a small piece of something....I don't know what, either a spitball or something fell from the ceiling. I choose to believe it was a spitball.

7. Scarily...he is only in his early sixties
He hasn't aged well.

But he's been in office since 1979 -- he must have been campaigning then.
