4. And be in the 40's and 50's by the end of next week
this will not last long. The roads will be clear by midday Sunday.

Watch for a major melt early next week.

9. I love snow, but this weather sucks. We get a little snow, then it warms
and melts, then it snows again. What are we supposed to do with that? I want a winter where it dumps on us big in November and then the snow just keeps coming until spring. At least that's how I remember it as a kid.

13. Yeah it melts and then freezes into a sheet of ice
Tried to go for a gallop on Weds...looked warm and THAWED. Didn't make more than about 100 yards and we were sliding all over the place. Frozen solid underneath that thawed layer of muck.

At least the snow gives more traction for the horses, but then we have to do it all over again.

10. This was the HS boys BB tournament storm
It used to be an annual tradition in Madison. I can't say I'm glad it has returned.

14. It's just partlycloudy here by the Peninsula.
The sun was out around 8 a.m.

My guess: we'll get hammered tomorrow, so people won't be going to church on Sunday. Oh, well. Maybe I can save those Palms for Ash Wednesday next year.

15. Just looked at
the Green Bay NOAA radar.....the snow is getting pretty close to you.

Peninsula people are tough....this little bit of snow won't keep them away from Church...tomorrow is Palm Sunday right?

16. Yup, yup, and yup.
I'm just wondering how long I can wait before running the bulletins. Procrastination is one of my worst vices, and I am not inspired to get anything done today.

Algoma is right on the "threshhold" of Door Co. But we do get some lake-effect from the Bay as well as the Lake. Not quite as bad as Sturgeon Bay, but..

My concern is that many of my people here are elderly, and prone to slipping and falling. We already had one guy slip on black ice and break his hip. And quite frankly, I just don't have time to get to the hospital next week.

(in the biz, we call it "Holy-Hell Week.")

18. Whoa, this is wild
I live about 8 miles from ewagner and I can confirm, we are getting some serious snow. I haven't seen this many flakes since the last anti-choice rally came to town.

And to think I laughed when my kids announced hopefully that they could get out of school early today. Sheesh. <hand slaps forehead>

This has to be the only thing NOAA has gotten right all winter.

19. Listened to local radio
...school closings starting to come in......

I was talking to my son on the phone from Florida and told him about the snow and school closings.....he got nostalgic about "snow days" in Wisconsin.....almost teary-eyed....I guess you have to leave Wisconsin for a while to actually miss it.....

20. I heard about the cancellations- my kids will be thrilled
As a matter of fact, I think I hear them pulling in the driveway now.

They have been so disappointed that there have been no snow days yet this year. We always seem to get our storms on Friday or Saturday and the snow is cleared by Monday.

Heck, I still enjoy snow days. Most of the time I don't mind if my plans get cancelled for bad weather. My schedule has been so tight the last few years that cancellations give me a day full of playtime too. Though usually I commit part of it cleaning or doing laundry.
