Where should we go when we get there? We'll be coming from Illinois, up I-39. Where do we park, and how do we get to the Capitol? Any other helpful advice would be welcome. Thanks!

1. I have this from WEAC
There will be organized rallies at noon and 3 p.m.

If you are driving to Madison, there will be shuttle buses running from the WEA Trust parking lot (45 Knob Road, Madison) to the Capitol and back beginning at 10 a.m. with the last bus returning from the Capitol at 8 p.m. The buses will run continuously with no specific pick-up or drop off times as traffic varies the travel time throughout the day.

Madison Bus SHUTTLE (Kobussen School Bus)
>
> Start Time: 11:00 am
> Stop Time: 7:00 pm
> 1) Westside 2 buses: AFSCME
>
>
> 2) Eastside 4 buses: East Towne Mall (In Lot By Dick’s Sporting Goods)

The problem with these is that the tractorcade is starting at 10am. If you want to get there to see it, the 11am shuttle will get you there a little late.

If you want to take your car downtown, I did hear that Monona Terrace had parking last weekend. It's not all that cheap, but it's a block and a half away from the Capitol on John Nolen Drive. WARNING: John Nolen is on the route for the tractorcade. You probably want to plan on getting there before 10am or after 11am if you want to avoid the traffic jam this will create.

There are also parking ramps scattered around the capitol for several blocks and more toward the university at the end of State Street. If you're there early enough in the day, you should be able to get something there.

6. AFSCME also has buses leaving from East Towne Mall - Dick's Sporting Goods.
Easy parking and transportation. That's who I use.
