Something seems fishy to me.
Did anyone watch the results as they came in and wonder how the hell Walker/Johnson got almost identical vote counts (same for Barrett/Feingold)?

Did anyone else wonder how in the hell David King, a guy who is being accused of rape, almost beat a non-controversial family dynasty SOS in La Follette?

Something seems up to me... as in 2000/2004 vote flipping, up...

Maybe I am wearing my tinfoil hat but their shenanigans have proven it's not just paranoia at this point with GOP operatives.

1. As much as I wish that were true, I don't agree.
According to the returns in Jefferson County, about 1/3 of votes cast were for straight-ticket Republican. That's nearly 10,000 votes right there. :(

2. Yup
THIS is how Russ (and others) got fucked. People used to split the ticket and vote for him - as is evidenced by his 2004 win. The turnout in the super red areas was WAY high this year and a lot of those were straight ticket.

Yeah... :(

3. I'm not sure but I think the concern in the post is about the electronic voting machines.
The figure about straight party voting would be as easy to program in as any other configuration you might want if you were a conservative nerd insider and given the opportunity to hack or alter the internal programs in the machines state-wide. The identical vote pattern would also be likely if simpler lines of programming were used. And really what difference does it make if there's no auditing of the e-voting machines?

4. That was exactly my concern...
It's obvious there was a lot of straight party ticket votes, but that seems too easy an explanation when such similar vote counts have not historically happened (per the JS article) and when it seems that Tea Partiers dominated the discussion and claimed they would take certain Republicans down as well, which had to mean at least some votes weren't going straight party ticket.

Seems quite strange to me.

5. I don't know
but there were numbers off in my town...in some of the poorer minority areas voting was stronger than usual, but yet when I looked at the figures in this mornings paper - their votes were repub...what???? maybe black baptists or something? Not sure how it happened....they all voted for Obama two years ago, but I don't think the people in those areas are too attuned to politics and really don't believe there is any correlation to local and fed. politics?

The city was pretty much 2 - 1 dem - but the church areas(new rural subdivisions built by Paul Ryan and Mark Newmann around born-again churches) and older rural areas were almost total repub...so here at least it looks like gerrymandered districts moved it to repub...
