Ron Johnson's accounting doesn't add up

More hypocrisy and obfuscation from Ron Johnson: The Cap Times notes that the Johnson campaign refuses to say whether his company created the 11 new jobs they committed to when they received a $75,000 federal grant in the 1970s. He says he wasn't involved with the grant. Here's the strange part.

All right, then, what was Johnson's job at the time? Er, he was Pacur's accountant.

So let's get this straight: According to city of Oshkosh records, the project was being completed and paid for when Johnson was Pacur's accountant. But he tells the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he "knew nothing of the federal grant."

Aren't corporate accountants supposed to know something about what money is coming into a firm -- in this case from the federal taxpayers -- and what money is being spent?

And wouldn't it help a firm to comply with the requirements of a federal grant if the corporate accountant kept track of how the money was spent -- and to what end?

Johnson's made a lot of claims during this campaign about his business savvy. When it comes to answering the most basic questions, however, Johnson's accounting doesn't seem to add up.
