Hmong for Obama meeting today
I went to the Hmong for Obama meeting, it was well attended by very enthusiastic members of the Hmong community. Rep. Donna Seidel and Nate Myska (running against do nothing Petrowski) addressed the meeting.

1. Wow, I didn't even know Nate was running.
I wonder if he's forgiven Chippewa County yet. One time last spring at one of our meetings we really put him on the spot to defend Obey and his pro-Pelosi stuff.

2. He's running and he's doing a fantastic job
Karen has a hard time defending some of the things Russ does too. Dave and Russ sometimes need to take a step back from their DC world and see things from our side. They do a much better job then most but they still make the mistake of putting their colleagues before constituents.

3. Hmong residents rally for Obama

The Obama campaign is reaching out to Hmong voters statewide, and on Sunday, more than 100 people attended a "Hmong for Obama" rally at the Marathon County Public Library in Wausau.

A Daily Herald analysis of spring nonpartisan elections in 2008 estimated that between 1 percent and 3 percent of Wausau voters were Hmong. Rally attendees said they believe turnout for the November election will be considerably larger.

This is an important untapped voting group.
