Did you know that our DNC members will be elected at the June convention?

The members elected in Stevens Point will take office immediately after the convention in Denver. They will be some of the superdelegates in 2012, if the system survives until then. They also elect the national chair (Howard Dean's term ends early next year.)

It's certainly not too early to think about running. Is anyone here considering it, or know someone who is?

1. I got an email from one guy a while back...

who announced he was running. I think it was a mass email-blast to people. I am not sure why I got it, but it pertains to this thread.

Dear Loyal Democrats--

As we prepare for Wisconsin to play center stage in the Democratic nominating process, I wanted to take a moment and announce my intention to seek re-election to the Democratic National Committee at our party's state convention in June.

I have been honored to have served as your representative to the Democratic National Committee these past four years. When I first ran, I ran on the platform of representing America's next generation of voters. Since my election, I have pushed the party to make sure that young people have a say in major party decisions. That is why I am proud today to say that I have just been elected the Chair of the DNC's Youth Coordinating Council. Additionally, I have made it one of my goals these past four years to keep everyone up to date on what the DNC is doing. As such, I have worked hard to send out regular email updates and to attend as many county party functions as possible. I believe you are entitled to know what I am doing as your representative to the DNC.

I went in 2007, not as a delegate, but just a visitor.

5. Wonder why I didn't get one of those

I'm on quite a few Democratic mailing lists. Oh, well. Anyway, Jason has gotten quite a bit of attention on DU in the last few weeks because of his age and superdelegate status. We had a thread right here in Wisconsin.

TIMC, do check with your county party and become a delegate at the convention. Hope we'll see you there!
