Finished last shift at the fair

This afternoon I finished my last shift at the Central Wisconsin State fair for the Wood County Democratic Party. We ran out of EVERYTHING! We ran out of Kerry/Edwards Stickers, refrig magnets (we had some made up for our county party), Red, White and blue beads and bumper stickers. The demand for those things is overwhelming. We were asking for a $1 donation for the Kerry Edwards busttons and ran out and had to go get some more...took the last 50 or so and now we need to order more.

The repubs were up to some of their usual dirty tricks...like waiting until we were really busy and then planting some of their candidate's literature on our table....like sending plants over to ask us leading questions....

Toward the end of the day they set a guy at the entrance to the exposition building to "sticker" everybody who came in the door with Bush/Cheney stickers...mostly kids and guys wearing tank tops and cowboy hats......

All-in-all, I think we did really well......

This year, when I walk into the voting booth and mark the ballot for our candidates, I won't feel guilty for not doing anything...this weekend I devoted 15 hours to the cause and I'll do more in the next 58 days or so.

...in a very loud voice, "Hey look, everybody! The Bush-Cheney supporters don't think they can win fair and square, so they're cheating by sneaking their literature onto our table??"
