Anyone else at the rally tonight? Way cool..
I thought it was a great crowd, and was impressed with both Teresa and John Kerry. It felt great being around so many people who believe America can do better. Only a dozen or so bushitas and they were ignored.

Anyone been to other presidential rallies in Milwaukee previously? How did tonight's crowd size compare?

2. It WAS way cool.
A total trip.

I understand Scott Walker and David Clarke were on the "bull" horn with the Bushbots. Damn tacky for elected officials to disrupt a rally. I think the Journal-Sentinel needs a LTTE, and Mark Belling and Charlie Sykes need phone calls.

5. so many people in line
I was with the group signing up volunteers and found myself with those at the end of the line, which stretched almost to Juneau. Those people were really dedicated, knowing that the park would probably be full before they got near it. I signed up 85 new volunteers, and if the others did the same, that would be about 1300 altogether. Many, many more said they were already signed up or would be when they returned to wherever they were from (Chicago, Florida, Madison, Fond du Lac, etc.). It was a long time to stand around, but everybody was glad to be there and didn't seem to mind.

On the way back to the parking structure, I happened to come upon a small crowd waiting for the motorcade to leave. A few guys in Bush/Cheney shirts came along, and I thought, uh-oh, so I asked if they were going to start something. One said, "No, I just want to go home." And they did. They got a fair amount of mention in the paper, but the comparison with the huge number of Kerry supporters was so obvious.

And it felt great to wave to Teresa as they sped off!
