Better for us if Walker or Green wins?

1. Tough call, I think
My instincts tell me that Walker would be an easier target but only because Green has so much money and backing from Major Republican donors. I could be wrong about that though.

8. Bad News
You are right, Green is tougher, but here is something else to think about: http://www.angus-reid.com/polls/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewItem&itemID=10388 Let's hope TT doesn't run for Governor.

2. I think they both have weak points the Gov. will be able to capitalize on
But I agree with ewag, Green currently has wagonloads of cash which make Walker look a little more attractive as an opponent.

I'd also say Walker seems a little less polished as a politican. Green's had a couple of runs at congressional office and will probably run a better campaign than Walker.

4. I'll always be a Brett Favre guy....
...although Javon Walker and Ahman Green are great too, even if they're injured.

Oh, what? Scott Walker? Mark Green? Um, right. I'll just go back to my St. Louis news, then....

5. I really don't think Green could win a state-wide contest.
He runs in a really conservative district and isn't even a Wisconsin native.

That's just my brief analysis, but he doesn't seem like the kind of guy that Wisconsinites would elect governor. But yeah, there's the money thing, too.

6. How would that play with Green's district open at the same time?
Will it hurt whoever runs in the district moneywise?

7. Probably Tougher If Walker Wins, But
it'll probably be Green. However, Green does have links to Delay. Walker is known to more people than Green.
If Walker campaigns dirty (If, yeah right), he could get the nom. Is Walker the one who tried to make people pay to vote?

12. shouldn't Doyle be in on that primary
I don't think he really qualifies as a Democrat. I long for a real Democrat in the Governor's mansion.

13. Oy. Exactly what has Doyle done that disqualifies him as a Democrat?
I agree I'm not happy with every move he's made, and if there was a primary he may or may not be my first choice, but in a lot of cases, it's been his veto pen protecting us from some truly bad legislation.

14. he's anti-state employee
You're right about his great use of the veto pen, he just riles me with his apparent disdain for state employees and his open dislike of Peg Lautenslauger (I know that's not spelled right but I'm too lazy right know to track down the correct spelling) It seems to me he doesn't care for Lawton either - I think she's fantastic.

15. anti-state employee?
If you call Doyle anti-State employee, how do refer to Green and/or Walker? If you're referring to his crack-down on state-owned cars, you'll get no sympanthy from anybody while you're crying about that mess.

16. I know they'd be worse but
that doesn't excuse Doyle shabby treatment of state workers - he acts like they're untouchables. I don't want Dems to judge our leaders by shrugging it off as "well they're better than the republican". By letting the right constantly set the agenda they will continue to pull us down the fascist black hole.

17. Is this a private fight or can anyone get in?
I agree Doyle pretty much could easily pass for a moderate Republican. He went out of his way to support coal-fired electric generating facilities (AB441) and even had his picture in the Wausau paper at the ground breaking of the Weston 4 coal plant (boy that will bring in the environmental vote). He took away county and local authority and say in transmission line siting (AB437). As a result the Arrowhead-Weston line is being built (boy the farmers, environmentalists, and homeowners are loving him for that one). He signed the so-called "Jobs Creation Act" now universally despised by conservationists, fishermen, environmentalists, and agency personnel entrusted with protecting our natural resources. He reneged on his campaign promises of eliminating special interest favors (he may beat the Tommy Thompson record indulging in the practice).

Yes he has done some good and I will vote for him over the mentally ill contestants lining up against him so far as they are all worse but I will be rolling my eyes and shaking my head as I do so.
