http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=2221229&mesg_id=2221229I should have posted this here, it is so nice to hear from a Wisconsinite that we can be proud of. This letter appeared in yesterdays Wausau Daily Hearld. (In today's paper they have a nice article about Carter and his criticism on Bush. What a great man!)
"I think it's time for certain parties to step up to the plate, take responsibility and move on.
So who's responsible for the messy situation our country's in now? The failure of FEMA's hurricane response due to an incompetent political appointment, the insistence of our military on torture for detainees, the environmental pollution of air and waterways (thanks to expensive lobby efforts of big business), loss of face internationally because of our refusal to follow the Geneva Conventions, refusal to sign the Kyoto agreement or to join the World Court - and especially for starting a war killing tens of thousands of Iraqi citizens and causing death and dismemberment to thousands of our own troops?
Would all of the people responsible for this travesty - those who voted for the Bush administration - please apologize and promise not to do it again?"
