call a press conference to express his shock and dismay at the governor's inability to swim.
Cracked me up on a Friday morning.
The editorial is about the instantaneous revulsion of the pukes over Doyle's gaming compact with the Potawatomi. The link if you're interested.

Editor: Tinker with the gaming compact
An editorial
October 7, 2005
If Jim Doyle walked on water, Assembly Speaker John Gard would call a press conference to express his shock and dismay at the governor's inability to swim.
So Gard's instant objection to the 25-year gaming compact reached in negotiations between the Doyle administration and the Forest County Potawatomi was to be expected. Gard simply gripes for the sake of griping - and, of course, for the television cameras.
More significantly, he is a short-timer. The speaker has already indicated his intention to leave the Legislature and seek a seat in the U.S. House - where, presumably, he senses there is an opening for someone with his talents, now that former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay is out of the picture.
But that does not mean that Doyle has cut the best deal, nor that the governor should refuse to consult with responsible legislative leaders, such as Senate Majority Leader Dale Schultz, R-Richland Center, with regard to the agreement.
