Kid-friendly Milwaukee Sunday brunches?
Hoo boy.

My parents are coming up to celebrate my birthday a little early, on Sunday. They've offered to take the BF and his 3-year-old (they've met him, not her), and I've accepted.

East Side preferred, but we can drive some.

Here are the criteria:
¥ÊWe'd go to Sol Fire, but my mom doesn't like Mexican (and, yes, Sol Fire is Latin, not Mexican, but it's a distinction she doesn't quite get).
¥ÊWe'd go to Eliott's, but they lack a kids' menu (although the lady said there are lots of ways to feed the little ones there -- they do have boosters/high chairs and I've seen kids in there). I'm still open to that one.
¥ÊOld-school brunch places are generally too expensive. No $25 buffets, please, especially because some of them count three-year-olds as "children" and charge $12 for 50 cents worth of food (sometime, she eats lots; sometime, she won't eat anything).
¥ÊWe'd prefer something not-zoo-like (i.e. not Heinemann's on a Sunday). I won't do Cheesecake Factory on principle. Prefer no national chains -- what's the point of coming to Milwaukee to eat what you can get in the Chicago suburbs? Sick to death of Chancery.
¥ Twisted Fork would be perfect (it's surprisingly kid-friendly), but we went there last time (sans child).

Additionally, my dad is low-carbing and will get very annoying with substitutions very quickly.

I'd cook myself if it was any other occasion, but, well, it's my birthday and they want to take me out.

HELP!!!

1. It's nothing fancy, but price and food are OK
Try Mama's on 78th & Burleigh

Giovani, one of the chefs there runs a Sunday brunch - I think it's about $8.99 for adults, $2.99 for kids (don' know what ages - think up to 12).

Pretty good food - has scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, bacon, little crepes, fresh fruit, a couple little desserts, waffles to order, and omelettes he cooks for you.

4. That actually sounds like a place worth checking out sans parents
I should add: If there are a couple of non-traditional brunch items on the menu, all the better. My mom sometimes has "issues" with breakfast-brunches.

5. He'd whine and moan...
...but you know, in his heart, he'd be LOVING it.

6. Plus, there's always Trocadero.
I could imagine the wee wane there. :D

7. "Wee wane?"
Hm. Trocadero. Worth a thought. I've never thought of it in kid-friendly terms; doesn't mean it isn't...
