WASHINGTON — A former congressional aide and lobbyist described Tuesday how he obtained advice, insider information and help from Bush administration procurement chief David Safavian to advance two projects being promoted by Republican influence peddler Jack Abramoff.

The aide, Neil Volz, who was a partner of Abramoff's at the time, also outlined how they received assistance from several Republican congressmen including, Rep. Bob Ney, R-Ohio, Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., Rep. Don Young, R-Alaska, and Rep. Steven LaTourette, R-Ohio.

Edit...I reposted this little thread here, so it don't get buried and forgotten like Shellie wishes it would.

1. And this from today's front page of the Charleston Gazette:
Capito spokesman Jordan Stoick said the congresswoman had no knowledge of a purported phone call between her former chief of staff and Volz regarding the White Oak project.

"She was not aware of any contact with GSA, nor has she ever consented to her name being used in any way to assist in obtaining information from GSA on this matter," Stoick said.

Capito’s former chief of staff, Mark Johnson, said earlier this year that he did not bring the issue to Capito’s attention.

<snip>

Describing help they requested from Capito’s office on the White Oak project, Volz said they wanted to keep her role secret.

"She was up for re-election and this potentially could have put her in harm’s way on the campaign trail ... because this project doesn’t have anything to do with her district," Volz explained.

Looks like she's using the dummy defense. That tactic didn't work too well for Ken Lay, did it?

2. Well I'll give the old sow an A+ on being a dummy
and the same grade as I give Bush for telling the truth!(Z - ) Arch never did know nutin about nutin either.

I used to never know nutin, bout nutin, when my Momma was about to take a switch to me for doing WRONG. Momma always really got mad when I lied to her and the switching got serious then.

Some childern NEVER learn though!

Of course Shellie's dad was a liar and a thief, at least that is what he was sent to prison for, so he didn't set a good example for his kids. The proof is in the results! One daughter busted for selling dope and now the other one is being shown to be a crook like her daddy. The Moore's "FAMILY VALUES" and "MOOREALITY" are about like Ali Baba's...
