Martinsburg man gets prison for tying dog to train tracks
http://www.wvgazette.com/section/News/Other%20News/2005080914

A man who tied his wife’s dog to a train track will spend one to three years in prison for the animal’s death.

Richard W. Faircloth, 30, of Martinsburg was sentenced Monday in Berkeley Circuit Court before more than 40 spectators, including animal welfare advocates.

Kujo, a German shepherd-pit bull mix, was struck by a train in October 2004 and died when its lower jaw was severed — a crime Judge David Sanders called “just shocking.”

what a sick fuck

2. I think people who do things like this usually graduate
to doing things like this to people.

It was his wife's dog. Betcha money he's a wife beater.

More about Kujo, who died a horrible, agonzing death at the hands of a heartless human (he wasn't killed immediately but suffered for some time and bled to death):

4. oh that poor puppy!
yeah, animal abuse is closely linked with spousal abuse. Three years is not enough for this jerk.

6. Sounds like a Freeper type!
Man...things like that burn me up!

My hound dog died in January and I'm still really sad about it. If I'd see somebody pull a stunt like that, I don't think I could keep from taking the law into my own hands! His next step would probably hurting his wife, if he hadn't been put away. I'm glad they started giving people like that stiff jail terms for mistreating animals.

7. Believe it or not...
... his wife appeared in court on his behalf -- she wants him back. I swear I do not understand women who put up with abuse.

9. Good to see the justice system working
one normally hears about sickos like this after they've graduated to homicide, and these were the "warning signs" that weren't pursued.

8. The sentence would have been MUCH lighter...
... if it weren't for a new law just passed by the WV legislature making animal abuse a felony -- legislation, BTW, proposed by a Republican lawmaker from this area. What were the Dems waiting for, anyway?

10. But, what was
that woman's name that pushed him on the law? I can't think of it now. She hung around the legislature for two sessions trying to get it passed.
