It's official Dave Ross running for Congress in the 8th
Just heard it on the radio..KIRO's am host, Dave Ross will be running for Congress in the 8th district.

Dave is a moderate Democrat and I think will give us a very good chance to change Dunn's seat to a Democrat.

I'm going to miss him big time on the radio, but I hope we can do everything we can to get him elected and add one more Democratic voice in the House.

1. Is this the same Dave Ross...
... that does the daily commentary spot on CBS radio network?

If so, this is awesome news. He has his head together!

3. Yes...that is him. He does the CBS daily commentary...
And yes...there's already another democrat in the race. Ross was approached by the Democratic party chairman to consider running. They did a test and found his name recogniation very high.

If he's voice is lost to the radio, I hope we'll get him the house.

4. He has two primary opponents,
Heidi Behrens-Benedict (who is a sweet lady, but NOT an impressive campaigner, and who runs every single solitary time) and Alex Alben (who is a little bit too centrist for my taste) are both running. I prefer Ross to either one, from what I've heard of his positions. However, this seat is not a gimme, even with Ross' name recognition; Dave Reichert is running for this seat as a repug, and after the capture of the Green River Killer, he's very much a golden boy right now.

6. interesting
I guess this guy has the one thing Alben doesn't: name recognition. But still, everyone and his cousin has jumped on board with Alben already, in terms of endorsements, so what are Ross's chances?

I really think we can win the 8th. It's gone D in the recent presidential elections, and Bellevue elected a Democrat to the state House recently. If we bust @$$, we can win it!

I know nothing about Ross, though. What I've seen from Alben so far I really like. His website is really good...I like what he says about the issues. I think he's got the right mix to win over there.
