Occupy Seattle rescinds demands made to mayor
Posted: 7:16 am PDT October 12, 2011Updated: 7:59 am PDT October 12, 2011

SEATTLE -- The group Occupy Seattle, which has been holding protests at Westlake Park, rescinded demands it made Tuesday night to Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn.

KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Rick Price said Wednesday morning that he was hearing conflicting reports about the conditions for moving the protest to City Hall.

On the group's website overnight, Price found their conditions for a move, including four large tents for medical and other purposes, parking for vehicles delivering supplies, access to the first-floor restrooms at City Hall and written permission from the mayor to occupy that site indefinitely.

1. Petition to Mayor of Seattle: Hands Off Occupy Seattle Protesters

We demand that you, Mayor McGinn, call off the police, and that Occupy Seattle be allowed to exercise free speech and voice its opposition to corporate control by demonstrating in Westlake Park in the city center where the targets of these protests, the multi-national corporations and banks, are located. We demand no restrictions on First Amendment rights to assemble, including attempts to seek protection from the weather, any time - day or night.
