How are you handling calls from Pugs?

I got a phone call from a nice young man today who asked me if President * could count on my vote on Tuesday. I politely said, "No not this year", and he said if I ever change my mind, vote for him. And I thanked him and wished him a nice day, and also thanked him for getting involved in the political process.

Figure I'd baffle him with politeness.

Skittles: Amber, is it? Now you listen to me, Amber: I wouldn't vote for that lying, thieving piece of SHIT if you put a gun to my head. GOT THAT?

2. If I have time

I listen to their speech then ask them tough questions about just why I should give my vote to Bush. I have about a 25 minute record for keeping them occupied and away from calling anyone who might buy into their brainwashed cult like sloganism.

If I don't have the time to linger-I laugh hysterically.

5. I think your dignified response is very appropriate...

...I especially like the fact that you thanked them for getting involved in the political process. If they stay involved they may be exposed to more progressive political philosophies and may someday have a change of heart in their loyalties.

In the meantime, had you been screaming profanities at them, they would be more likely to presume that all Democrats are rude and be less likley to have an open mind as they mature.

One of the reasons that I'm a Democrat, is that I beleive that we are the party that truly wants to unite, not divide, our communities.

It is divisive behavior to scream at people, as some of the other posters have suggested.

6. I got a recorded-voice survey from Luke Esser.

This was a while ago, so I didn't even really know who he was. I thought that he was a Republican and knew that he was running for some office, but that was about it.

Then I took his "survey," which consisted of questions like "Do you agree with me that there should be an amendment to define marriage as between a man and a woman?" and "Do you agree with me that we should all support President Bush's war in Iraq?"

I answered every one of his questions, including "Are you planning to vote in the Republican primary?" and "Can I count on your vote?" and then I hung up angrily, with an intense dislike for the man.

If he was trying to get my support he couldn't have screwed himself over any more than he did then.
