I am on the Enumclaw plateau, right by the foothills. Last night was interesting, I could hear the wind just howling up in the mountains, and to the east, but we, thankfully, got nothing but snow, barely any wind. We have a lot of beautiful huge cedar trees all around our house, so it was a relief. Hopefully, everyone else did as well.

Holmgren's goodbye game is today, I hope people can make it, my dh is going to try.

1. I'm in Bremerton
I've gotten about 6" of new snow on top of the 5" I already had and I'm not going anywhere. Sure is beautiful though.

3. I'm in Mill Creek...
and pretty much snowed in for the time being. I don't think I will be getting down my driveway anytime soon unless I walk. Thursday I crashed into the curb and was lucky I didn't hit a tree. The guy behind me also crashed into the curb and ended up going down the driveway backwards. If I do manage to get down in one piece, I'm not getting back up until they de-ice it.

I was out about 6:30 am walking the dog. It is gorgeous! The snow's about 6" or more deep. My dog has arthritis, but she did okay trecking in the deep snow in spite of that.

No winds here, thankfully. Be safe out there if you're driving today!

Next week is our last push for revenue for the year. It really should have been last week, but people like to procrastinate in getting their contracts in, so it will be this week. We will be working long hours, and our department head wants us to 'volunteer' to work Christmas Eve in an even swap for getting Jan. 5th off. No. I think my being at work and working the contracts of the people who were out last week earns me the right not to volunteer to work on what should be my day off, and they aren't going to be paying us double time, either. Like last week, I'm betting myself and maybe two other people will be the only ones to show up to work in two departments on Monday and Tuesday. No one wants to go out in this mess, and I don't blame them. Most of our supervisors didn't even come in last week.

4. Pt. Townsend...
Windy, very cold. But the grass is sticking up through the snow, and it's clear enough that we can see shipping traffic. That said, we're staying in by choice -- lots of ice under the snow on the streets and walkways.

8. right outside PT, windy and windy
I just sent you a private message, please check your inbox.

Normal winds for a storm here, but with the snow last night, was nasty out here. Now it is breezy, blowing some snow, snow feel perfect for snowmen. We got 5 inches on top of a bucket that is out in a field and a bit windblown around the edges. Center of it is 5 inches, haven't touched it since this all began.

9. Bainbridge Island
I haven't been out in it yet, but it looks like several inches on top of the 3 or so that were already on the ground. I didn't hear any wind, and the trees look pretty snowy, so it was pretty calm here. The snow is still falling. We're planning to go for a walk soon.

11. It was blowing pretty badly here last night, but we didn't lose any
power. Lots more snow. Cars are parked out on the main road, 3 blocks away (it is near impossible to get to our house when it snows, so we don't even try). I did get to the store just before the heavy snow started again, and a few hours later, when I looked outside, all the tracks in the snow up the driveway were completely covered over.

Fortunately, I am able to work from home if necessary, and we stocked up on food and stuff before the worst of it hit.

It is beautiful, but at some point, it also gets to be a dangerous nuisance.

Hope everyone stays safe and warm!

12. I'm in Bothell and me and my hubbies are putting chains on the car and are going to attempt
to get me to work at my hospital. My hospital of course, has no emergency plan as they are idiots.

14. Welcome to DU and I don't envy your winters over there.
At least you don't have the hills to deal with so much. Stay warm, dry, happy winter holiday of your choice!

15. Thank you!
I have been a long time lurker on the DU, but I just had to chime in this time. We normally don't get so much snow at 1 time. It usually snows a bunch over a couple of days. This time, however, it all hit in 1 1/2 days. The plows just can't keep up. I have a scion xA and everwhere I go , I get just a little bit stuck!

16. Welcome to DU!
Nice to see another Wings' fan on the Washington forum. Let's Go Red Wings!

I had a terrible time getting out of Seattle. I was supposed to leave the night of the 18th. That flight was cancelled; I eventually got to Chicago (via San Francisco) on the 19th, took a shuttle to Milwaukee, spent the night with my brother, flew to Detroit, drove to Ann Arbor, then Lansing, then back to Milwaukee (I had to see some DUers in Michigan), and on Christmas morning, I'll go back from Chicago to Seattle, where I hope to have no problems. Five nights in five beds, but at least I can stay put here for two more nights. I get lots of reports from Seattle. My work has not closed at all, though at least it's downtown and central to get to. We were going to have Christmas in the San Juans, but had to call off those plans.

17. Luvs me my Red Wings!
Although he's not quite Scotty Bowman,I was so happy when they hired Mike Babcock as head coach. He,after all, was the coach of the (2008 Memorial Cup champion) Spokane Chiefs for about 6 years in the 90's.
