2. I asked the same question in the Activist HQ forum

and was pointed to the United for Peace link: http://unitedforpeace.org/

On the left hand side of the website under Featured Events there is a list of other participating cities. As of today, Olympia and Walla Walla are the only WA cities listed. I am really hoping Seattle will have something on the 27th, but so far, I haven't found any information on it.

On Edit:

Found these listings at Peace and Justice Events: http://www.scn.org/activism/calendar/jan.html

I'm not sure these events are coordinated with the DC March, but they are happening on the 27th in the Seattle area:

**SAT JAN 27, and subsequent Saturdays, 12:30 - 1:30 p.m., at S. 38th St. and Steele by Borders Books, Tacoma; PEACE VIGIL organized by United for Peace of Pierce County. All peaceful folk are welcome and encouraged to turn out! info http://www.ufppc.org

**SAT JAN 27, 1 - 2 pm, at corner of Greenwood Ave. N and 85th, Seattle; NORTH SEATTLE NEIGHBORS FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE VIGIL. Please join us! We will have postcards addressed to Senators Cantwell and Murray asking them to oppose sending more troops to Iraq.

SAT JAN 27, 1 pm, start at the Center for Social Justice, 2111 E. Union, Seattle; Demonstration to Cut Iraq War Funding Now; Troops Home Now; Opposition to Racism and Scapegoating of Arabs and Muslims; Opposition for all occupations from Afghanistan to Palestine; Support War Resisters; Fund Social Needs. ending at Judkins Park. info January 27th coalition to BRING THE TROOPS HOME NOW jesse_hagopian@yahoo.com or 206-962-1685

**SAT JAN 27, and subsequent Saturdays, 2 - 4 p.m., at Westlake Park near 4th and Pine, Seattle; Vigil and leafletting to STOP PRE-EMPTIVE WARS AND DEFEND OUR CIVIL LIBERTIES, this vigil, started by 911 Peace Coalition, has been going on over 5 years! info commiett@yahoo.com

3. Let's Hear it for those who Vigil!!!! An almost thankless Job
I love:sarcasm: all these politicans who now say "If I knew then what I know now", hey I have got news for you: Jim McDermott knew it. Why didn't you??? We need to show support for people with the cahones who go beyone the knee jerk reaction of "the war is terrible".
There are vigils all over the Puget Sound, attended by a just a few people. Women In Black, the Snow Coalition, United for Peace and Justice, they are all over the place, but you'll likely only see notices for them Online.
I know Jean Buskin has been posting over at scn for United for Peace. She also posts for many other worthwhile causes for events around the sound.
Thank You paxmusa, for the post. You beat me to it. I encourage everyone to flood this forum with events to bring about social justice!
