Interest in my campaign is shooting through the roof! The media attention my campaign has received since the abrupt departure of my former Finance Director and Campaign Manager has been incredible. Last week I was interviewed by the Virginia Pilot and the Richmond Times Dispatch (
http://www.inrich.com/cva/ric/search.apx.-content-articles-RTD-2008-08-03-0221.html); my quote on the Equal Pay for Women vote appeared in the Huffington Post (
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/howie-klein/equal-pay-for-equal-work_b_116479.html). I am now a nationally endorsed PDA candidate and I will be on PDA Air America (Richard Green's CLOUT) on Tuesday August 5th at 9pm.
While the Virginia Pilot article isn't out yet, the Richmond Times Dispatch piece shows my positions contrasted against those of my conservative opponent Randy Forbes. On energy and the environment, I proposed immediate solutions to end our dependence on foreign oil and several ways to reduce our overall energy costs; I also stated that I am completely opposed to off-shore drilling. Randy Forbes like John McCain never met a war he didn't like (that's because he gets his money from defense contractors). I said we need to bring the troops home now. Randy Forbes talked about health insurance and buying prescriptions from Canada while I talked about single payer healthcare.
I can't come up with any logical reason for the vote against Equal Pay for Women other than just plain arrogance.
The National Committee for an Effective Congress is finishing a poll of the 4th Congressional District and I will need to reach the targeted voters. $24.85 will pay to print and ship 400 full-color door hangers. To donate please click on the following link:
http://www.andreamiller.us.We have now opened campaign offices in Petersburg, Emporia and Chesapeake. We are now ready to begin the most aggressive field campaign the 4th District has seen with the first 10,000 pieces of literature arriving on Thursday.
If we want to say good-bye to Randy Forbes and his anti-woman, pro-war, anti healthcare voting record, please contribute to my campaign. I'm out every day getting my message to people at home, on the street and in front of Ukrops. You can donate from my Web site at

Elect Andrea Miller for Congress

It looks like the Times Dispatch is planning another article on our immigration policies. I can't wait.
Andrea Miller
Democratic Candidate
U.S. House of Representatives (VA 4)

P.S. A special "Thank You" to the Petersburg and Powhatan Democratic Committees. There were so many volunteers at the weekend events all the volunteers couldn't all fit in the tent. Kudos also go to the coordinated campaign which saw more than 60 people attend the training session in Emporia; people came from Emporia, Greensville, Brunswick, Sussex, Southampton and Franklin City to plan their canvassing activities. The first ministers outreach session in Smithfield was a tremendous success; it was so well received we plan to repeat it in several other cities.
