Looking for info on nature preserve in/near Va. Beach 1970s

I can't remember the name of it, haven't been there since early 1970. As I recall, it was between Norfolk/Little Creek/Ocean View and Virginia Beach proper, along the main highway.

There were marked trails, and some kind of bridge that went over or through a swamp/wetlands.

Maybe it's gone by now, I have no idea, but if anyone has any information, it will be much appreciated!

1. I can picture that scene

It might have been part of Seashore State Park (now known as First Landing, I think) or Lynhaven Inlet? I'll look one or two places and if I can pin anything down I'll report back.

As soon as I read "Seashore State Park" in your post, I knew that was it. Then looked up First Landing online, got the final "click" with Bald Cypress Trail.

Went there many times as poverty-stricken navy newlyweds in 1969. Wish I had more pictures.
