Here's Something: Obama Polls As Well As Perry In Texas; Both Over 50 Percent

The Houston Press

Here's something we wouldn't have guessed: Texans give President Obama about as good a job approval rating as they do Governor Rick Perry.

More surprising, both are over 50 percent.

The Texas Lyceum has a new poll out, and it shows Obama with an approval rating of 51 percent among Texans, while Perry is at 54 percent. With a margin of error of 3.7 percent, that's pretty close.

Some of Obama's rating, the Lyceum says, can be traced to the killing of Osama Bin Laden, which happened three weeks before the polling began. But even last year at this time Obama had a 47 percent approval rating in Texas, the Lyceum says. The poll is of likely voters.

Interesting numbers. We could still use the national Democratic Party lending a hand. That could bring those numbers up to something positive for all of us :)

1. I saw that
I must say that Texas voters are fairly confusing or bi-polar. How can the same set of voters both approve of Perry, the Texas Lege and Obama? I's like to say they are sane but I'm not sure anymore. Maybe they're just being nice for the phone poll takers?

The good thing is that as crazy as they are they at least did give Obama a bump for the bin Laden settlement issue. But honestly giving Perry an equally high number is nutso - total nutso. :eyes:

7. Ha!
"And if Perry thinks only god can solve our problems, why is he even in government? Why doesn't he just stay at home and light a bunch of candles like Sissy Spacek's mom in Carrie?"

8. If only the Prez would spend time and money here next year
I don't think he has a chance to win the state, but he would lift the fortunes of literally dozens of Dems down the ballot.
