Andy Fastow Needs Work: Some Potential Jobs
From today's Houston Press blog "Hairballs" :)

Andy Fastow Needs Work: Some Potential Jobs

By Richard Connelly, Thu., May 19 2011 @ 7:01AM

As you might have heard, Andy Fastow has returned to Houston after his stint in a federal prison.

He's currently in a halfway house and, let's face it, he needs a job. Luckily the rules allow him to leave the facility for work or community service.

But Fastow comes back to a changed Houston. To help him adapt, and in the hope he can line something up in this tough economy, we offer our job tips:

5. Houston Texans statistician
Look, numbers are wonderfully malleable things. You say the other team got 38 points and the Texans only got 21 (14 of them scored in garbage time) and that means the other team "won"? Fine. Let Fastow bedazzle the press for a while and those numbers will come out as another win for Houston.

...more at linked-headline...

I love No. 4!

1. Is the halfway house he is assigned to the same halfway house i might be assigned to?
or are there different "levels" of halfway houses?

I asked yesterday also, but no one seemed to know.

2. I remember seeing your question,
but I don't know, nor do I know how to find out. Maybe federal prison halfway houses work differently than those for state prisons.

3. i'm just wondering if HIS halfway house has a jacuzzi, wet bar, nice stereo, ...
private rooms, an (unspoken) "whites only" policy, etc.

5. Thanks for that.
Good article, detailing what's in store for him while in the facility.

When it was mentioned being on Commerce near Minute Maid Park, I knew right away that wasn't a very "nice" part of town. That's where all of the county courthouses and the main jail resides, it's a sea of self-serve parking lots and rundown buildings. Sure, the yuppies are doing their best to gentrify it, but it's not like living even in an inner-city, sidewalk-lined neighborhood. Seems like an appropriate place for him. I wonder if he can see the old Enron Building from there? ;)

Here's a Google Maps link to the facility (center of the page on the corner of Commerce and N. Hamilton) and another one zoomed out for the bigger view:
