5. Hard to say what is best

K. gets noticed by the media even if it can be far from a favourable image. He could provide an adult and sensible foil at the same time as providing some audience draw for a debate (KERA Dallas has offered to host Democrat gubernatorial debates). Does Shami have the resources to last until then? Even if he does, Who will be watching? Friedman can provide an audience that White might otherwise never get a chance to address. On the other hand he just might come out with some crazy-assed thing that would paint us all as...

I would never use those terms to describe Kinky.

If we use Kinky as a "draw" like you said it is likely to hurt us by painting us as crazy. If Kinky is going to stay in the race we need to ignore him and not accept him. He's like the Sarah Palin of Texas politics - he's in it for the attention. Plus he doesn't understand policy - just like Sarah. :)

"The only announcement today is that we have no announcement. Kinky has invested 7 months and a lot of money in this race and is not going to rush a decision that will so significantly impact the ticket. He is taking a few more days to visit with his supporters and friends. Kinky also wants to visit with both Mr. Shami and Mayor White before making a final decision. We will keep our supporters and the media advised once a decision has been reached."
