So did anybody else GET MOTIVATED in San Antonio on Wednesday?
I did. It was pure unadulterated HELL. Several of us attended to unfurl an 18 foot long banner saying "Arrest Bush" and send about 4 thousand flyers down to the crowd below during his speech. Unfortunately, in order to do this we had to sit through about 6 hours of the most horrific drivel and snake oil one could possibly imagine surrounded by thousands of gullible and pathetic people pulling out their credit cards at the drop of a hat. And trying not to scream at Colon (sic) Powell and blow our cover was really hard. Seriously, ALL of these snake oil salesmen should be in jail. Each presentation brought more and more bigotry, misogyny, victim blaming, homophobia, all wrapped up in a flag and carried by baby Jesus. Anyway...Bush came second or third after the lunch break. We unfurled our banner, and even though the place was pretty dark, one of our comrades across the stadium said it could be seen clearly. He said the people around him said, "Oh look they have a banner welcoming Bush!" Then a couple of seconds later the same person said, "It says...ARREST BUSH! Oh MY!". The people around us had no idea what we were doing. Bush started off talking in our direction, but he did not see the banner. Then he was turned in the other direction for a while. We started screaming at him and waving our arms to get his attention. About that time, three things happened all at once, 1-security came, 2-we started throwing out flyers from all around the stadium, 3-somebody jumped up and grabbed the banner from the floor below. I heard one lady near us say, "Shame on you! This is a motivational event!". A whole bunch of dudes escorted us out, and some were madder than others, but the main dude was really cool and just let us walk out the door without anyone roughing us up or hassling us. It was a good day.

1. You rock, luvspeas
Hey sounds to me like you were very motivated to get your message across.

Considering these are Texas cops, I'm happy you came away with "not being roughed up".

:applause:

8. I'm in Houston, but one of my one of my main offices is in SAT...
The company paid for the (cheap)tickets, transportation, food, etc... for the ENTIRE SAT office to attend, minus one liberal who refused to go on principle. I was invited, but declined, informing them I would only attend as a protester, not to "get motivated"...ridiculous.

Way to go luvspeas! Would have loved to have been a part of it!
