Question authority: You'd have thought they were quoting me!
Edited on Thu Nov-12-09 11:32 AM by white cloud
Think I hear a pig squealing. LOL

Here's an interesting article that should scare the typical Pete Sessions white as a ghost! This piece condones the asking of tough, direct questions of elected officials in public forums, video taping their responses and placing these videos on youtube and other sites conducive to putting such videos online.

The idea, of course, is to hold elected officials accountable to the standard the public demands. The result, of course, will be much shorter tenure on the part of elected officials!

Me: Senator Carona, you stated in your remarks that we should hold our elected officials accountable--would that include yourself, sir?

Carona: Well, of course.

Me: I have been working with Terri Hall of Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom on transportation issues, and we sent you not once but twice a candidate survey on transportation issues and not only did you not complete and return this survey, but you and your staff completely failed to even reply in acknowledgement of receiving this survey. You say that we should hold our elected officials accountable, but then you refuse to even acknowledge the positions of Texans. How do you reconcile your remarks to your actions?

Carona: I am the Chairman of the Transportation Committee and your group represents a specific agenda that I cannot be nailed down to before the (2009 Spring) Legislative Session.
