It's January. It's 80 degrees in Austin
and there are three little butterflies engaged in a fierce dogfight around the bush I'm sitting by (and collaterally, my head).
Back in the days when watches used to stop, I knew how to get one going again.

I don't know what I'm supposed to do now that my calendar has stopped.

1. Enjoy it!
I hate winter so this is my kind of weather. You don't need a stinking coat or gloves or 3 layers of clothing. Bah humbug on winter!

We could use some rain though. That's the saddest part. Things can't grow without water. I see that there is a slight chance of rain on Monday. Come on rain!

You don't really re-start a calendar. You erase it. Think of the way an Etch a Sketch works. Just shake it a bit and you get a blank slate and voila you have a new year!

:hi:

2. Oh, my.
What was I thinking? Never do the Etch a Sketch erasal when you have one of those calendars with the little numbered month tiles and day tiles that you rearrange each month.

Wheeee! Time flies! :D

3. It hit 83 in Waco
On Christmas night I slept with all the windows open and a ceiling fan on over my bed.

I may have to do that again tonight.

I think I am going to have to mow my yard tomorrow.

And just a couple of years ago we had snow in mid-April.

5. Or not - that's the extreme weirdness of this climate change
We had one summer here two years ago that was like the tropics. It was hot but not 100 degree plus weather. And we had lots of rain so things were green well into the fall. That's what I'm hoping for.

7. Uh-oh! I just got here in August and I already thought the
humidity seemed tropical then. I almost had moss growing on my north side!
:wow:

6. And it snowed this year in Houston
Nothing is certain with this uncertain weather. I just hope we don't get any more drought. We got to have us some rain.

9. I'm dreaming of a rainy day or two
And frankly temperatures in the 60s are fine by me too. I just don't like freezing.

10. Well, Sonia, for you I'll do what my dear departed Mom
used to do for me whenever I had a special request for something over which she otherwise had no control.
She lit a candle for me.

She got me out of more jams with her candles...
:)

17. You're prob'ly asleep but I just got out of work
and it's raining. Not pouring, mind...but definitely raining. It was a combination of lighting the candle and washing the car, I think. :)

18. We got some drops of rain down here
and an awesome morning rainbow. Very rare for this neck of the woods.

12. Checking the charts...
It appears La Nina (dry for Texas) is winding down now. We should start getting some rain again.

11. Yeah, I was really enjoying my morning coffee...
out on the patio today, until a breeze dumped a big cloud of mountain cedar pollen on me and sent me into sneezing fits. :)

15. You poked the weather sprite- "she who should not be teased"
And look what we got? It was supposed to be in the 80s again to day and now we get a high of 61. And tomorrow we get a high of 37. Happy?

Oh that's OK it's back to 76 by Thursday and we both can get something we like this week.

:woohoo: :bounce:
