Craddick's man not a good bet
Take, for example, Todd Hunter, a legislative candidate whom Craddick hopes will help him hang onto power. Hunter, a former Democratic House member who is now a Republican, is challenging first-term Democratic Rep. Juan Garcia of Corpus Christi, a Craddick foe who narrowly unseated a Republican incumbent two years ago.
It is one of several House races that will determine whether Democrats recapture a House majority
"I am very, very anti-tax," Hunter recently told Republican online viewers.

Within days, the Texas Democratic Party had unearthed copies of old record votes indicating that Hunter voted twice to increase the sales tax in 1990 and supported increases in gasoline and diesel fuel taxes in 1991.
"Todd Hunter's anti-tax claim is an example of a politician at his worst, hoping voters will share his selective amnesia," Texas Democratic Chairman Boyd Richie said.
