State Convention: Bomb Threat, Cornyn, Radisson..... Coincident
Edited on Wed Jun-11-08 04:18 PM by MagickMuffin
I stayed at the Radisson for the State Convention.

On Friday I went out to my car to get my umbrella and noticed a SUV that had Washington DC license plates and a Cornyn window sticker. I went back to my room to get ready to walk to the convention. Hubby and I then got on the elevator to get some coffee at Starbucks, we were staying on the 11th floor. Once on the elevator the fire alarm went off (the little fireman's helmet lit up) and we were dumped off on the 3rd floor. We didn't know the hell was going on, everyone left the building.

We got our coffee went back to our room after the coast was clear. I left for the convention.

I was talking to one of the delegates in my district on Saturday (she was also staying at the Radisson) she told me that there had been a bomb threat on Friday.

Anyhoo, I think it was interesting and just wanted to share my story with you. Do I think the Cornyn SUV had anything to do with this, I'm not sure but I didn't see the SUV after that.

I wonder if the emergency evacuation on Saturday at the Convention was also a bomb threat?.?.?

And of course there was the Governors Mansion that got torched Sunday morning.

Do you think all this was connected?.?.?

1. Very strange
We stayed at the Radisson, too, and had to evacuate from the restaurant Friday night around midnight. The waiter came out later and told us it was just smoke in the kitchen that set off the alarm, but now I wonder if that's what he was told to say, or if there was another reason the alarm went off.

We missed the alarm Friday morning. What time did that happen? We had a caucus we needed to attend at 9:00am, so we left the hotel right after 7:00am to get an early spot in line for credentials. I still didn't get mine til 9:20am. My husband was on a 9:00am caucus panel, so he had to go back later for his.

I wonder if there were similar events at any of the other hotels. In all my years, I have never been in a hotel or restaurant or convention center and had an alarm and evacuation. To have this happen 3 times, and at a Democratic Convention is very suspicious. Not to mention the Mansion having an arson fire just a couple hours after our convention adjourned.

Here's my post from earlier, in the topic of the mansion fire.

3. This probably occurred between 8 and 9 Friday morning.
This was my first time to ever be evacuated at any hotel or convention gathering.

We kinda freaked out being on the elevator when the alarm went off. We were so relieved the doors opened up and let us out.

It's amazing people think it's funny to make bomb threats to get their jollies off.:eyes:

2. The SUV
I just remembered, when we were checking in around noon on Thursday, there was a dark (probably black) SUV parked at the door, so probably just checking in, too. It had a Cornyn bumpersticker, but I didn't notice the plates.

4. I wonder if it was the same SUV, the one I saw had the Cornyn sticker
on the back left hand side in the lower portion of the window.

I became suspicious when I noticed the SUV, and that was before the evacuation. I was wondering why was a Cornyn person showing up during the Democratic Convention, and did they have a purpose for being there at that time.

Strange in deed.

5. Not the same SUV
The one we saw at check-in around noon Thursday, had the Cornyn sticker on the back panel, a foot or so beneath the window, and on the right.

6. It was probably some RW nut.
other than Cornyn or his folks. They always leave the dirty work to the knuckle draggers that are always more than willing to do it.

BTW, all Democratic Party meetings are completely open. Anyone can walk in, sit down and watch. Of course, only delegates vote
