Just a quick note to advise you of a few upcoming Obama happenings:
There will be running
a voter registration drive at Rahr Brewery, 701 Galveston Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76104 this Saturday from 1-4 p.m. We will be doing much of the heavy lifting, but would love to have as many Obama supporters as we can join us in your Obama gear, raise visibility, etc. After this week's phenomenal showing in Indiana and North Carolina the end is finally in sight and its time to start focusing (finally) on November. The Rahr crowd is a wonderfully eclectic and highly independent crowd - was the unofficial Cowtown headquarters for Kinky Freidman's 2006 gubernatorial bid. Here's a chance to (a) sample some really good beer and (b) begin the outreach to the independent electorate that will be so critical to our success in the general election.
Be forewarned, some of our dear ladyfriends in the crowd are ardent Hillary supporters, who we will also need in the fall. Be thinking peace signs and flower rather than full battle gear? Many of our supporters are regulars as well, so we won't be outnumbered. Also, expect to park on the street and walk a few blocks.
There is little parking and many drinkers since the beer is free after the purchase of a $5.00 Rahr glass. We will be also having our monthly Tarrant Obama meeting this coming Wednesday, 5/14, 7 pm at the Pour House.
All are invited - please spread the word. We will be discussing our plans for the summer months, summer office hours and projects, and just generally enjoying the company of all who have fought the good fight and earned our just reward - Barack Obama as Democratic Nominee for President of the United States!!!
