It would be a great and wonderful thing for all of Texas and the country to get rid of Smokey Joe. He is the biggest obstructionist to clean air in our state.

2. Endorsements are fine, but can he unseat Barton?

As a Democrat in District 6, I've seen good candidates lose to Joe Barton year after year. There's a historic opportunity afoot this year. I hope there's enough Democratic Party enthusiasm, momentum, mojo, whatever that Joe Barton will find being on the Republican side will be a HUGE disadvantage this time. I lost Martin Frost when Tom Delay messed with the district lines and put me in District 6 again and Martin Frost in a no win situation.

It's already a bit weird rooting for a guy named Bush. We need a winner in District 6. Hopefully, Steve Bush can do this year.
