Dinner Brings Rove, Protestors to Austin
My husband brough this to my attention this morning.

Wondering if anybody here from Austin was in attendance?

Heres the Chronicle link: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/headline/metro/4128798.html

AUSTIN — Presidential adviser Karl Rove talked up the war on terrorism, national security and their role in the coming election at a Saturday night GOP fundraiser that drew raucous anti-war demonstrators, including Cindy Sheehan.

His speech was interrupted by a woman who said loudly as she was led out, "Men and women are dying."

The dinner was expected to yield $250,000 for the Republican group to spend on Texas state and local races.

About four dozen demonstrators gathered outside the Renaissance Austin Hotel before a pre-dinner reception carrying a pink banner saying, "Rove: Guilty of Crimes Against Humanity" and several protest signs.

1. Nope I missed it.
I did post the event was going to happen since I got the notice from CodePink. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it. There's a good link to the AAS article that mentions PPC's own Linda Foley.

Among the protesters was Linda Foley of Azle near Fort Worth.

"This is just one more thing we do when we're trying to change administration
policy," she said.

Foley, who wore peace-sign earrings and a Veterans for Peace shirt, said she and
others had caravaned from Camp Casey near President Bush's ranch outside
Crawford south of Waco. The camp is named after Sheehan's late son, Casey.

karl rove is an evil bastard.
