I received a recorded phone call from Nick Lampson yesterday.
I am voting for him, but wasn't happy with the call. I know he's bowing to the conservatives in this area, but he mentioned his religious faith, his opinion on marriage between a man and woman only, and his love of guns.:eyes: Seems to me he could be ostrasizing gays, atheists, and people who don't like guns.
I wish he had addressed the war, ethics in Congress (or lack thereof), education, healthcare, etc., etc., etc. Sigh.

1. I used to live in Beaumont when Lampson was a local pol
The only things I ever liked about him was that he supports organized labor, and he is the lesser of several evils. So I voted for him. But I didn't get really enthusiastic about it.

he's the profile that the Dems need in CD22. He speaks to issues in an honest way. What he said in the call is reflective of his beliefs, not pandering. As long as he's honest, someone we can trust, even if there are issues with which I disagree, he's still a 1000% improvement. Plus, there are many issues (not in his phone call) that are inline with my ideals, not the least of which is healthcare. He'll stick it to w and the neocons. And he's a hell of a nice guy.

We need to turn every possible congressional seat Democrat. We need the numbers and we need honesty and ingetrity. I think you and I and a lot of Democrats would love to see more liberal Democrats from Texas in DC, but CD22 will never elect one. They WILL elect Nick and that's good enough for me.
