I just got two notices from MeetUp.com about folks wanting a MeetingUpping

Both "lloyd" (with a lower case L, so it ain't Bentsen's ghost) and "Tiffany" want to have DU MeetUps. I thought we'd evolved from that, but if two people from the Houston area in two days both want to have a thing, oughten we to go ahead and see if we can't rope 'em in?

The names of Houston area DUers at the Meetup site seems long enough to rationalize at least a campaign season meeting or two. Is anyone else in the Houston area game for this?

Personally, I am totally "meeting'd" to death. I have at least 3 to 4 Democratic events going every week (2 today). Next Saturday, my granddaughter gets back and her single dad just started teaching again this week, so I have to look at lots of extra family "stuff", added to the meetings that aren't going to slow down til after November.

Also, to be honest, I've found the DU meetups to be all socializing, which is fine if you have the time.

Maybe you could get in touch with these people and get them connected, via the very full HCDP calendar and all the campaigns that are literally begging for help.

2. I think we stopped doing official Meetups, because they started charging.

If anyone wants to foot the fee, I'd be happy to show up for a meetup. We have "unofficial meetups" quite often. We almost always post here in the Texas Forum about any political/social events we have planned to attend.
