2. If I understand it correctly
He can still get off the ballot, he just can't be replaced. That is the whole fallacy of the Republican framing of the issue. The court heard a case about replacing him on the ballot, not removing him from the ballot.

3. Exactamundo!
His only exit is to withdraw. And that would be cutting and running twice! But you know DeLay is a bit hard headed. Some of those pesticides he handled addled his brain or altered the brain chemistry, so he's a bit delusional about his power. I can't see him handling the loss at the ballot box. So count me in as betting he's going to cut and run twice, and get himself off the ballot by withdrawing for the sake of the party. He'll use some lame excuse about how the Democratic party is trying to use him to their bad boy and how he just has to do what's right for the GOP party. He'll try to blame the whole incident on the Democrats some more.

Fine by me bastard!

5. According to Juanita
He has to withdraw so that he can get unlimited contributions to his legal defense fund.

There are just too many punch lines to this continuing joke.

And the best part is that when I say "according to Juanita" everyone here knows exactly who I am talking about. No one on this continent has worked harder to skewer Tommy Bugman than Juanita has. Let's have a moment of wild cheering for Juanita!:woohoo:

8. I'll toast to Juanita
You know her health is getting better just thinking about a congressional district free of DeLay - it's so refreshing. The air will be cleaner, that's for sure.

:toast:

4. If DeLay was a man of honor...
STOP LAUGHING!

Obviously this would take place in an alternate universe. The law does provide for the replacement of a candidate who dies before the election. So imagine this scenario... Tinky Binky takes DeLay to a small room. In the room is a chair and table. DeLay sits in the chair. Tina pulls a pistol from her purse and places it on the table. She tells Tom she is confident he will do "the right thing". She leaves the room, shutting the door behind her. She waits.

6. Sounds like an episode of 24
And, this was actually predicted in all seriousness by a very smart person I know in TX-22. The comment, was "don't put anything past these people." And, I mean this person said this to me VERY seriously.
