Fort Bend Democrats put up signs today and something amusing happened
Edited on Sat Aug-05-06 07:07 PM by muse
I was driving over to headquarters to volunteer this morning and saw my friends putting up our Democratic signs. A whole bunch of them. The hilarious thing was that they were putting up one of our "Had Enough? Vote Democratic . . . for a change" signs right across the street from the home of the chair of the Republican Party of Fort Bend County.

He has a pest control business (!) that he runs out of his house, so you can see his name - GILLEN - on a sign right behind our signs.

I took photos and blogged about it here (click on the photos to make them larger):

This guy, Gary Gillen, does NOT have a sense of humor.

But, Fort Bend Democrats do. :)

Here's Juanita's version of the sign incident along with a very special adopt-a-sign opportunity:

1. Great report muse!
I got my adopted sign and Juanita sent me a photo of my sign's caretaker. I cropped her out of the photo to protect her identity. I hear she's a wonderful woman. I'm proud to have her care for my adopted sign.

2. You are so awesome, Sonia!
I heard stories today from Juanita about how she got some very trusted people to take the adopted signs home with them for their yards.

I can guarantee they will be well tended all the way through to Nov. 7th when we have our victory party!

4. I got a great person right?
As I said I am proud and honored to have my sign in her care. I even told Juanita that I didn't need a picture, but that I wanted to adopt a sign to help. She told me that you (muse) would not have let her get away with that. So now I'm glad she insisted following protocol.

5. Yeah, she is AWESOME!
She's my precinct chair and we were on the phone tonight strategizing our big block walk for Lampson and a couple of house parties we are planning for him in our precinct in Sept. She happened to mention she just put up one of Juanita's adopted signs and I said, hey would it be Sonia's sign (because believe it or not, I sorta recognized her from your cropped picture!)?

I'm going over this week to take a photo of it in her yard. :)
