Anyone in Austin/Cen-Tex up for a last-minute brunch on Sunday?

DUer OrwellwasRight is in town. She just happens to work for a Congressman of whom you may have heard. Lloyd something or another. ;) Anyway, I thought it would be nice to get some of the crew together for brunch on Sunday. South locations are welcomed, and even preferred, as she's staying south.

Locations... Well, there's La Feria. And Curra's ORIGINAL location on Oltorf. Or Guerro's, where they are kind enough to let us set up a voter registration table right next to the bar on First Thursdays.

2. She's been to Guero's. I'm all for the original Curra's.

La Feria wasn't bad and had lots of room. Curra's is more of a crap shoot space-wise.

We ran into Shaz last night. I'm surprised she found time to register voters with all the shopping she did.

10. I don't know what all the fuss is about. I've been in the same district

since I moved here.

Of course when order is restored to the Capitol, I'm hopeful that the 10th will be returned to its former glory. :patriot:

11. In the last three years

My house has been in the 10th, 21st, and as of yesterday the 25th. At least that idiot Lamar Smith is no longer my congressman!

12. Ok so Lamar is no longer our Congressman but he is inflicting pain

Pain and incompetence on good people we know. He still represents UT for example. We need to keep our eye on the prize and get Lamar out of Congress. I'm committed to following this DeLay clone to the ends of the earth to get him out of Congress.

I'm coming for breakfast but have to leave for a meeting at noon. I'm happy about getting back my Congressman but torn about John Courage who has worked this district so hard being thrown into an incumbent protected district they drew for Lamar.

13. Yeah, I have mixed emotions about it

I'm happy that Doggett is my congressman again, but I was really looking forward to having John join Lloyd in January. And while it's not impossible, obviously CD-21 is now a much harder district for us to pick up. I've gotten to know John Courage during the last year and I know what a fundamentally good person he is. I wish him well and will support whatever decision he makes about running.

Nice to finally meet some of you. Sorry I'm more on the quiet side, but that's who I am. I'm a terrible story teller anyway (engineers are good in math but bad in language, what can I say) , LOL. I will at least be at KAB again, if I can't make the 20th.

Me, I just stare at the waterfall a lot and sip ice cold tropical drinks in the shade while I chat with my friends amidst the bougainvilleas and hibiscus..

Free Beverages! Potluck Snacks.. Sonia is bringing Bloody Mary Fixins..I have stuff for a tropical punch..and margarita's if we want them..We can make it a late lunch if we like..
No waitresses who are trying to turn the table on us.. AC inside if we get too hot..
