Time to help Juan Garcia in District 32
Edited on Mon Jun-26-06 08:16 PM by theredstate
Cross posted on The Red State.

As many of you know, the June 30 deadline for campaign finance reports is coming up this Friday. This is an important marker for many races because the better your showing the more people you can attract after this filing. This also shows to potential future donors that Juan and the campaign are working their tails off getting support and ultimately be able win the election.

While Juan and his crew are working in the 110-degree heat going door to door garnering support, guess where Gene Seaman is?

Vail, Colorado.

According to Vince at Capitol Annex, Seaman has a quarter million home near Vail and that is where he likes to “summer.” It must be nice to be able to get on the phone and hit up every moneyed special interest and uber-lobbyist to raise money. Let us not forget that Seaman was a top money getter from Tom DeLay’s dirty TRMPAC money.

Richard Morrison said “He pocketed $35,000 from DeLay's TRMPAC and its parent organization ARMPAC in his 2002 race. He took an additional $80,000 from other DeLay-linked sources, including Houston megadonor Bob Perry, the indicted Texas Association of Business , and Texans for Lawsuit Reform.”

In fact, Seaman wrote in a testimonial (tab newsletter.pdf) that “the TAB mail pieces and television ad absolutely won the race for me. The 2,400 vote margin is undoubtedly due to the efforts of TAB.”

Seaman may not be able to raise the same dirty money (since everyone is getting indicted or fleeing the state) but he will still be hitting up big donors that do not have the people’s interests in mind.

What Juan is doing is far more impressive and important. He is reaching out to the community everyday, knocking on doors and asking for their support. However, Juan does need our help.

Help him raise $5,000 in the next five days. If you can give $5, $10, $50 or $100, then please do it today.

1. Kicking it for Juan
"everyone is getting indicted or fleeing the state" So true isn't it?

Personally I want some of those indicted to see some jail time.
