Dear DNC Staffers:
The issue survey contained herein is worthless. Attempts like this to break the problem down into “issues” miss the point of what the real problem is.
The real problem is that George W. Bush is a fraud and his entire life has been a fraud; and everything he and his junta have done to America is governed only by their lust for power. You can’t piecemeal it into issues or policies. To do that is to play on their ground by giving them a legitimacy they don’t deserve. Get this: Everything, without exception, that George W. Bush has done, does, and will do is based on the pursuit, maintenance, and expansion of power. Nothing else. To pretend that there is a policy debate or an issue debate is to legitimize an illegitimate regime and to minimize the gravity of the problem.
Attack the real problem and stop reinforcing the illusion that what is going on today is normal politics. No less than democracy itself and civil liberty itself are at stake. The pendulum does not always swing back. When Julius Caesar destroyed the Roman Republic after crossing the Rubicon, that pendulum did not swing back. There was no pendulum left. Caesar destroyed the pendulum itself. Bush and his junta are attempting to do the same thing. Get serious about it. Expose and attack the real problem. Don’t get bogged down in the illusion that there is an issues debate or policy debate with the gangsters who are running the country.
From what I know of Howard Dean, he probably knows all of this but is being stifled by Pelosi, Reid, the Clintons, and other sellouts of Washington politics. They are sold out. They have lives of privilege and comfort. To tell the truth about what is really going on would risk their comforts and privileges. So they don’t do it. That’s selling out. Howard Dean is no sellout but he’s being muzzled; it’s obvious to people out here in the boonies. Howard needs to throw off the sellouts and turn himself loose.
Tell Howard that his friend David Van Os is kicking ass in the race for Texas Attorney General. For any more information, see www.vanosfortexasag.com.
Scrap the “issues” surveying. Stop trying to construct a better weathervane. Weathervanes won’t depose the junta. Be the wind.
Sincerely,
David Van Os
