Go Kids, Go!
I was just treated to a parade of young people, whooping and cheering and whistling, taking to the streets of Downtown Fort Worth. They were protesting the new immigration law. They chanted, carried mexican flags, a few had signs (one said, "Your parents were immigrants too") It makes my heart just smile to see 'em go.

I saw some police escort, but they weren't interfering or roughing any kids up.

THIS is how a peaceful protest works, and it is so good to see it here.

1. hey chica where are you? I just had lunch at Ciao
Chicken piccata - they make a really good one.

Saw the kids - my überrepublican coworkers looked at me like I was an alien when I said I disagreed for a hundred reasons.

1. Where you gonna put 11 million people?
2. Why do incidental employers fall under the felony act, since if I hire a "white" cleaning service I don't have to ask for papers or 1099 them.

and so on - we all know the variations on this.

2. 11 million people are already here
In fact, I'll bet that a portion of the folks who cooked & cleaned up after my lunch at Tai Pan (at malfunciton junction) are either undocumented or fake-documented.

3. I meant, if these yokels are trying to get rid of 11 million people
where you gonna put them.

Who's gonna round them up - we don't have that many people in our combined police, military and national guard.

4. Ask your republican friends
if they built their own house? Mow their own lawn? Never eat out? Clean their own office?

5. same thing here in Houston
On my way to work this morning, kids from Hightower High School were marching en masse down Highway 6 on their way to downtown Houston (which is miles away). There was a police escort. They were waving Mexican flags and chanting.

Here is the Houston Chronicle story about the students from all over town doing the same today!

Very cool. Very inspiring. Legislators forget the trickle down effect of their actions into the public schools - which where just about everything they do ends up wreaking havoc.
