TX Duers. Can you help? NASA Endorses the stench of corruption: Tom DeLay
"The congressman did pick up surprisingly out of the norm endorsement over the weekend when NASA director Michael Griffin asked those in the space community to send DeLay back to Washington.
In his keynote speech to the Rotary National Award for Space Achievement Friday night, Griffin said DeLay was “the best friend NASA has” in Congress. He also said every effort should be made to re-elect him to office. "

As a civil service employee, if I would do this, I would get FIRED! This is pathetic. If you would, drop a letter to the editor at:

Here is what I wrote:

NASA Endorses the stench of corruption: Tom DeLay
How can the Administrator of NASA, Michael Griffin, a civil service employee, make a political endorsement in the congressional race?

This is not only a clear violation of the Hatch Act that forbids federal employees from specific partisan acts, it defies common sense by endorsing someone who has a stench of corruption surrounding him and his former staff members.

Tom DeLay's stench of corruption does not help NASA, instead it hurts. How can the people of the country be supportive of our efforts to explore space on their tax dollars, when we are being led by a Congressman indicted for money laundering, and many of his staff either indicted, found guilty, or being investigated.

Michael Griffin does not speak for this tax payer!

1. Strange....
I am even more confused by the fact DeLay is facing an opponent who represented NASA FAR longer than did Tommy. I am with you on the endorsement, though - wholly improper, and he should be publicy censured for such an endorsement - it is corrupt in and of itself! As usual, another instance where the right think that rules of conduct apply only to those who oppose them.

And happy birthday!

I am a new DU member, but I am local to your area. I may try to do the BAND thing next month, if I can work it in.

2. The United Cockroaches have asked NASA to send Delay to Mars!
But NASA? And seeing how they are rocket scientists, too. That makes this doubly disappointing. Michael Griffin, has a been a real boffin at the helm of this once proud agency, he must go, but who would want this job now? Who would want any science related position in this administration? Who would dare?

6. This makes me want to throw up
This basically ruins my evening. What is wrong with this man? My tax dollars pay his salary. Shut up, Michael Griffin! And, people at this Rotary thing had to listen to this. I've been trapped at these types of events where I have had to hear this crap before.

I am very, very, very worked up over this!

7. If you google Michael Griffin and Tom DeLay
there is ample evidence that they are lovers.

What other reason for so much public display of affection?

I WARNED yall in my last post that this business about this speech ruined my evening. I do not, do not, do not like Tom DeLay.

And, I have HAD IT with him being my congressman.
