A precinct chair race to get excited about! DU hero wins.
Normally the contested precinct chair races are among the most dull, uninteresting results in the election tabulation. Does anyone remember Melody Townsel, the whistleblower in last year's Bolton UN nomination?

Well looka here!

6. but what
if the Precinct Chair doesn't want to do it anymore? Mine has decided that, but I didn't see anyone to vote for on the ballot. I was the only person from my precinct that even showed up at the caucus. Does that make me the new Precinct Chair?

As far as showing up at your precinct convention, no, that doesn't make you precinct chair, but I hope you made yourself a delegate to your county convention!

You can become precinct chair by talking to your county chair and asking them to appoint you. There may be a lag as at least in our county you have to be appointed by the entire County Executive Committee which is made up of all the precinct chairs in the county. That doesn't happen very often. However you can certainly start acting like you are precinct chair especially if your previous chair would like to put down the burden. Ask your previous chair what they did to organize things. They might be able to give you some tips. Otherwise we can give you some good tips here to start off.

btw Welcome to DU robbzipp! :hi: Although I think I've seen you around here before haven't I?

10. chair
I actually talked to my Precinct Chair during the last election and offered my services. She'd been doing it since the 1940's and was looking to step down because she's old and moving out to the country. She was training her next door neighbor to take over, but she didn't even bother to show up to the Precinct Convention. I suppose I'll talk to a few people at my State Senate District Convention about what I should do.

and thanks for the welcome. :-D I've made a couple of replies, but I haven't been a regular visitor/poster until recently.
