Roger Owen WON the District 1 primary?! How can this be?
Owen is the guy who caused a ruckus in Gregg County by going after a fellow Democrat because he was gay. Here's the story:

And after renouncing his affiliation with the GCDP Executive Committee and calling one of the bigwigs "a piece of dirt," Owen has won the Democratic primary in District 1. It just boggles the mind...

3. I think a bunch of East Texas Dems had a little talk with the guy...
Depending on whom you ask, Owen seems receptive to their ideas, including a call for party unity.

I hope this works, and I hope the uproar dies down with District 1 Dems voting for Owen. The more Dems we get in Congress, the better.
