You know how we're always saying the Dallas Morning News doesn't know what's going on in the world? Well, no wonder--they don't even know what's going on outside Dallas County. Check out this editorial blog post from Keven Ann Willey, vice president/editorial page editor for The Dallas Morning News. Apparently, she never looked at any highway signs (she spells "Cleburne" "Cleburn") and obviously--though she writes of the charming town square--never looked at the statue of the man the town was named for, Confederate General Hiram Granbury, because she spells the name of the town "Granberry" throughout...

Christmas
And yesterday was fun, too. It was such a lovely day that Georges and I took the 1966 MG out with the top down and drove to Cleburn State Park. The drive to Cleburn was rather so-so and the state park very nice but rather ordinary.
But then we decided to return to Dallas by way of Nemo, Rainbow and Granberry. That was the best idea of the day. What a LOVELY drive. Winding, wooded roads across rolling hills with delightful skylines and views. And Granberry? Fabulous. The best little town square we've seen in small town Texas and bustling with post-holiday activity. The shops are adorable and most had 50 percent day-after sales going on, so, of course, G and i did our part for the local economy.
Plus, they have a ton of bed and breakfasts and sweet picnic areas. We didn't even get to check out the lake. But we'll be back. What a fun place it would be for a daylong picnic, or maybe a romantic overnight....
No wonder our neighbor the dentist has moved his practice from Dallas to Granberry and is now looking to sell his townhome so he can live - as well as work - there!
