Two war protesters were arrested at a Republican fundraiser in Arlington on Friday night, accused of throwing candy at party goers. The candy came attached to a message: "Don't be a sucker for the GOP."

I'm not sure what to think about this story. They were apparently "Republican war protesters".
What an unusual combination of words...

1. Don't be a sucker for the GOP
I'd say they made their point pretty well with those words alone. But the brainwashed loyalists of that party will never accept dissent. If any member raises any dissent, then they're obviously Democrats. Good republicans are robots who follow orders only. No questions asked. Besides it's not their kids for the most part, dying for this war. Why should they care?

2. Progress is measured in very small increments these days
Even though this story borders on fluff, it's emblematic of the larger problem we have to overcome in this state. Brainwashing is not only occurring with Republicans through their devious tactics and "mein control" but with Democrats who don't know any better than to get their news from Fox, ABC, NBC, etc. Granted, Fox is a more extreme example but it only improves slightly with some of the other outlets. People don't know what they don't know.
