DeLay's next step--(I'm salivating)

AUSTIN, Texas — The next step in the criminal proceedings against Republican leader Tom DeLay is a trip to Austin to be fingerprinted and photographed.

DeLay was indicted Wednesday on one count of criminal conspiracy for his alleged role in a campaign finance scheme that helped give Republicans power in the Texas House and in Congress.

DeLay's attorneys were working out the details of when the 11-term congressman would return to the Texas Capitol in hopes of saving him from further embarrassment, they said.

"What we're trying to avoid is Ronnie Earle having him taken down in handcuffs, and fingerprinted and photographed. That's uncalled for and I don't think that's going to happen," said Dick DeGuerin, DeLay's attorney.

DeLay's defense attorney is an adviser to Kinky in a campaign that could very well throw the November 2006 governor's race to Perry, who will be running against Chris Bell, who filed the ethics complaint against DeLay.

I want to be protected from DeLay and his crime family. I want the whole standard police ritual. No special treatment for DeLay - take him down in handcuffs, fingerprint the bastard and take his ugly mug for the camera. Then I want those fingerprints run across the open crimes database and make sure that rat bastard's prints don't match other unsolved crimes.

Especially because Taser International Inc. President, Thomas Smith is such a big republican party contributor. That would be so awkward if his product accidentally was involved in another death by taser, while under APD custody. That would bring the count to at least 3 in the last year alone.

Then with tort reform limits, it would be even more horrible to imagine that DeLay's family would be limited to $250,000 under Texas law. I'm sure that DeLay's and his party could never have foreseen this possibility, when they rammed "tort reform" through the legislature.

It pains me to even think of that.

Two non-Davidians who went inside Mount Carmel during the siege, attorneys Jack Zimmerman and Dick De Guerin, both testified before Congress in 1995 that they saw bullet holes in the ceiling of the building that could only have come from above. The two attorneys were representing Koresh and Steve Schneider, his No. 2, and were allowed inside the building during negotiations.
