Will Kucinich be allowed to speak at the June 19th state convention?

The following came across a Kucinich 4 President list serve:

Right now it seems as though the elite status-quo minority of the
Democratic Party of the State of Texas is resisting the idea of
letting Dennis speak at the State Dem convention in Houston (6-19-
04). I can't say with any certainty whether they are actually
REFUSING to put him on the platform speakers schedule or if there is
some other reason why he isn't being scheduled to speak, but the word
going around in the Texans4Kucinich Houston chapter is that
the "someone" in the Party is resisting our call for Dennis to be a
speaker. IF there were some legitimate reason for Dennis not to speak
our people would have heard about it by now.

In a related issue, they MIGHT schedule him to speak in the
afternoon....AFTER he has to catch a plane to his next campaign stop.

You, and everyone else, can help by calling, writing or emailing the
Tex Dem party at any address below.

Tell them that you think they should include Kucinich as a platform
speaker in the state convention AND EARLY ENOUGH (anywhere between
11:00 and 1:00 for example) SO THAT HE CAN SPEAK BEFORE HAVING TO
LEAVE.

I couldn't get to the website through your link, but dropping the "contact" got me to the homepage. I didn't see anything about Kucinich, but I did go ahead and send an e-mail.

The Kucinich people in Houston have always been very gracious and supportive of the Clark supporters. There is NO excuse to try to shut/manuver Dennis out. He has some very valid things to say and they should be listened to.

I just recieved this reply:


"It is a rumor - he is speaking to the convention on Sat. morning after
we reconvene. Please spread the word that there has been coordination
with the Congressman and his representatives and TDP."


HOORAY!!! I'll be working the whole convention as a volunteer and I'll be cheering loudly!

3. He will be speaking

I just called Austin and was told he will be speaking Saturday morning after the convention reconvenes.

I really look forward to hearing him. He is a great speaker with a good message.
