Hey Progressive Film Buffs in Austin

I'm the executive producer of a radical/progressive film installation that will premiere in Austin at the Alamo Downtown on July 10th from 4-6pm. It's called The Terrorist She-Freaks of Texas. The Terrorist She-Freaks of Texas is a film, performance, and video installation that directly attacks the anti-gay, theocratic agenda of the Bush Administration (and its supporters) deep in the heart of Texas.

The film contains sexual content and may be shocking to sensitive viewers. Tickets will be $8 and will go on sale at www.originalalamo.com on July 1st.

The film will conclude with an afterparty at the Whisky Bar featuring a DJ and performances by Austin's hottest drag kings.

I'd LOVE to see some DUers at the opening and the afterparty. Come up and say howdy to me, it'd make my day.

2. it's a very dark comedy

attendees will be given extremist anti-gay, anti-sex literature (some real, some completely invented), there will be 'counselors' on hand to guide the audience through the experience of witnessing 'the horrible lusts' of Texas queers. Attendees will be given Purity Pledge Cards that state that they promise the US government that they promise to live a heterosexual lifestyle.

Basically, what we've done is taken all the rhetoric against gays and put it on screen to show how insane it really is. The question the movie answers is: what would it look like if queers really were gun-toting, teen-recruiting, hedonistic threats to the American way of life? What would that look like?

Lemme tell ya, it looks pretty silly.

Post-millennial America was supposed to be a futuristic utopia marked by progress and optimism. Who could’ve known that a group of crazed reactionaries would take over the United States government and turn the nation into a hellish police state? After detaining immigrants, silencing journalists, and demonizing intellectuals, the leaders of the New America decide that they need a New Enemy to distract the restless citizenry...

THE QUEERS! When the new leaders discover that most Americans are willing to deny human rights to sexual minorities, the government whips the nation into a frenzy of hatred towards gays and transsexuals -- a frenzy that culminates in the mass extermination of THE GAY MENACE!

Yet the new leaders make one fatal mistake: after rounding up the majority of American gay males, they assume that queer females will surrender without a fight. But the New Government quickly comes to realize that even the U.S. Army is no match for the loveably wacky militant dykes and trannies rising up from the depths of the Homosexual Underground. They thought turning America into a theocracy would be easy. But they didn’t expect to fight...THE TERRORIST SHE-FREAKS OF TEXAS!

How timely. Just in time for the Sept. hate amendment election.
